Run for JT: 69 Days Against Cancer

Seven years ago, I lost my granda JT to cancer. He was 69 years old—a man full of life, laughter, and love for his family. His loss left a huge hole in my life, but his strength and kindness continue to inspire me every day. Many of you will remember him as the calmest, most laid-back man you’d ever meet.

To honor his memory, I’ve committed to running 10K every day for 69 days—one day for every year of his life. It won’t be easy, but that’s the point. The challenge represents the fight against cancer, the resilience of those battling it, and the strength my granda showed throughout his life.

I’m doing this to raise money for cancer research—so more families can have more time with their loved ones. A portion will also support my soccer team, a sport that he and I shared our love for. Him taking me to Pittodrie and watching me play was one of his favorite things to do. Although he isn’t here to watch me play and move on with my life in America, I know he’s watching from above.
