Run in pain to gain
Tax deductible
Hi Everyone,
I have never in my life asked anyone for money for a something like this. Not sure how I feel about it. As I like to be private. But I work around the LA area and the homelessness is so bad that I can no longer just be a bystander. I want to raise awareness of the homeless crisis we are facing in our country. I believe its systemic and not that all of these people have made life choices to be where they are.
I plan on participating on March 5th 4x4x48. Inspired by David Goggins. In which you run 4 miles every 4 hours for 48hrs. I have not trained but last year I ran a 50 mile run in14hrs with only three runs under my belt. I guess you could say I like pain. I am a Special Forces operator or at least I was. So the thought of not sleeping and being in pain does not bother me in fact I sort of get excited for it. What bother me is seeing the pain and suffering of Americans that live right next to me in the streets. Especially women. I grew up with a single mom and at one point we needed aid. A helping hand if you will. We received that and my mom was able to pull through and create a beautiful life for us. Everyone at some point needs a hand especially during this year of extremely rough times. I am asking for donations. I am trying to reach $5k. If I reach that target I will donate myself double that amount. My plan is to Post on instagram (akm1981) my start and finish times of my 12 runs in the 48 hrs. To prove I did not slack nor cheat. Any amount is appreciated. If anyone wants to join me in Ojai that weekend. You have a place to stay. Thank you ahead of time. below is the link to the charity.
