Why We’re Raising Funds & Why It Matters!

At The Callie Project, we believe that every child and young person deserves access to mental health support, education, and a safe environment to grow and thrive—no matter their circumstances.

This May, our team will be traveling to Kingston, Jamaica to provide:

✅ Mental health and well-being workshops for school children facing economic and environmental challenges.

✅ Gang grooming prevention sessions to educate and protect vulnerable young people.

✅ Fun and interactive science lessons to spark curiosity and inspire a love for learning.

✅ Essential supplies, including school materials and healthcare products, for children and families in need.

Empowering Young UK Mentors to Inspire Change – Three young adults, once mentees in our Future Leaders Programme, have now stepped into mentor roles and will be delivering music therapy workshops in Jamaica. But their journey doesn’t end there.

Bringing Music Therapy Back to the UK – Based on their learnings in Jamaica Upon returning, these young mentors will lead workshops for children and young people in the UK, using music therapy to help them express emotions, navigate challenges, and build resilience. This initiative will provide a safe space for young people to explore solutions for making positive life choices through creativity.

Cross-Cultural Collaboration for Lasting Impact – Over six months, UK and Jamaican youth will co-create three original songs, exchanging music files and ideas. This unique collaboration encourages creative expression, global awareness, and a sense of shared purpose, empowering UK youth to connect beyond their immediate surroundings.

Why This Matters to UK Youth

Young people in the UK face growing mental health challenges, social isolation, and exposure to negative influences. By investing in their development through mentorship and creative expression, we provide them with tools to build confidence, resilience, and a sense of belonging.

Why This Project Matters to Us

In many underserved communities, mental health support is limited, and vulnerable young people face daily struggles, including poverty, violence, and lack of access to education. We’ve seen firsthand how early intervention, education, and mentorship can transform lives. By providing these workshops and supplies, we are helping children build resilience, make informed choices, and gain confidence in their future.

How the Funds Will Be Used

We are aiming to raise £6,000 to support this vital initiative. Donations will go directly towards:

Workshop Materials – Resources for mental health and gang prevention sessions.

Educational Supplies – School essentials such as books, stationery, and science kits.

Healthcare Products – Basic hygiene and self-care items for children in need.

Travel & Accommodation – Ensuring our team can reach schools and community centres in Kingston.
