Run To America
Donation protected
Starting June 10th, the University of St. Andrew's Women's Football Club will be running 4,022 miles, the distance from the U.K. to Brunswick, Georgia, the town in which Ahmaud Arbery, a 25-year-old Black man, was brutally murdered by two racists while jogging in his neighborhood.
As a club, we are running, just as Ahmaud did, to speak out against the racism and hate that exists in this world. Along our journey, we will be raising money for the Say Her Name Campaign, an activist movement launched by the African American Policy Forum and Columbia University's Center for Intersectionality and Social Policy Studies. The Say Her Name Campaign, works to raise awareness about the lives and stories of Black women who have been the target of racist violence by providing support for their families and educating and empowering communities adversely affected by police brutality.
As a female football club, we recognize the power of working alongside female teammates and want to support Say Her Name's mission to build networks and communities of solidarity for women. We share Say Her Name's belief that including Black women and girls in the discussion about police violence sends the powerful message that Black lives of all genders matter.
Please donate to show your support for the St. Andrews Women's Football Club and the Black Lives Matter movement and help us reach our GOAL!
