I have set myself a challenge to raise money in aid of the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation in memory of Codie McCartney- my very close friends younger sibling.

On Saturday 25th May 2024 I am running from Hawick to Mosspaul rideout and back. I will be following the same route as the cornet and his followers over the hills, covering 28miles in total.

The route consists of

Out - Howegate, Loan, Nipknowes, Pilmuir Rig, Whitchesters, Allan, Stobiecote, Auld Northhoose, Binks, Phaup, Linhope, Mosspaul

In - Mosspaul, Linhope, Phaup, Auld Binks, Auld Northouse, Stobiecote, Allan, Martinshouse, Longbaulk, Buccleuch Road, Tourknowe.

I will be leaving from the Tourknowe, Hawick, at 1.15pm! Join me if you wish!

Codie was born in the Scottish Borders in March 2005, she was a happy and healthy beautiful baby girl. At the age of thirteen months Codie was diagnosed with liver failure. Despite three liver transplant procedures, Codie sadly passed away in June 2007 at the age of 2 years old. Codie’s family were supported throughout her illness by the medical and nursing staff at the national paediatric liver transplant unit in Birmingham. They were also helped by a range of supportive services funded by the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation.

All the money raised through this Gofundme page will go directly to the Children’s Liver Disease Foundation. This will help support families like Codie’s when they are at need of it most.
