Run for the Orphans

Running is something I've always enjoyed but never made the time to do consistently. I've wanted to run a marathon for a long time, and there's no time like the present to make it happen. So I'm planning to run the 7 Bridges Marathon on October 18 in Chattanooga, TN. But that's not why I set up this fundraiser.

You see, I just returned from India a few months ago, and while I was there I got to visit an orphanage called: Bethel Children's Home. This orphanage is a project of Jesus for Asia. Bethel Children's Home is a refuge for children who have come from extremely difficult situations.

There is a problem though...

In order to help more children and also to meet government requirements, they need to build new dorms for the kids. And the village also needs a church.

So having this project fresh in my mind, when I decided to run the marathon I had the idea to use it as a fundraiser. So that's when the idea for "Run for the Orphans" was born.

So here's how it works...

You can sponsor my race miles! Every little bit helps. $1, $5, or $10 per mile are all great levels.

Half-Marathon - 13.1 miles (Planned for August 16)

Marathon - 26.2 Miles - October 18

You can also sponsor training miles! As my training progresses I'll share more about how you can help.
