Runkle Recovery

Hello, my name is Rachel , on 8/29/22 there was a severe storm that hit my sister (Laura Runkle) brother-in-law (Greg Runkle) nephew (Ethan, 10) and niece (Aubrey, 8).

The severe high winds caused a tree to fall on their gazebo while they were all inside. Both Laura and Greg were critically injured.

Laura was crushed under the tree for approximately 40 minutes, given a breathing tube and heavily sedated, her injuries resulted in 3 broken ribs, fractured scapula, fractured tailbone and severe bruising all over her body.

Greg was hit by the tree as well, and was given a deep laceration to the head, 3 broken ribs, and a ruptured spleen.

Ethan has severe bruising and is being monitored at the hospital for further injuries. Aubrey has a broken foot and will require surgery to correct it.

Greg and Laura have 9 children at home and some beautiful golden retrievers that they are actively providing for, and due to the injuries they will be out of commission for quite sometime. During this healing period we are asking for the help of the community to raise funds for their time of need.

This will go towards medical bills, food expenses for the children, and any extra help they’ll need in cleaning up.

In so many times of need they have always been willing to help others and open their door to so many individuals. They truly are some of the kindest souls I’ve ever met. I just want to give back to them in anyway we can ❤️
