Running 100km for Tower Hill Animal Sanctuary

I'm running the Race to the Stones 100km over two days to raise funds for the Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary

This is my first 100km! Argh! The race is on the 8th-9th July 2023 and goes from Lewknor to Avebury along the Ridgeway footpath.

Tower Hill provide daily care to around 600 rescued animals from all walks of life, mainly ex-farm animals and horses. There are over 100 equines, 90 sheep, 50 cows, 100+ pigs, plus hens, cockerels, turkeys, cats, dogs, geese and a swan! Fiona Oakes runs the sanctuary on her own with her partner Martin's help at the weekends. You can read more about their amazing work here: https://www.towerhillstables.org/

The work done by the sanctuary is hugely important in giving neglected and abused animals a happy life. They are in desperate need of your help - costs are rising and donations are falling, and if the sanctuary no longer receives donations it will have to be closed.

A £10 donation will purchase 3 bales of hay, a £15 donation will purchase 2 sacks of feed for the horses and cows, a £25 will purchase 3 sacks of sheep feed. Every single penny donated goes towards the cost of feeding the rescues.

Any donations made that can support the sanctuary in its work would be hugely appreciated. When the going gets tough on the race, I'll be thinking of the immense work Fiona puts into taking care of these animals, and how important it is that they can have a peaceful life.
