Running for 1000 days for Painted Wolves

I first saw a Painted Wolf pack (aka African Wild Dogs, Cape Hunting Dog, Painted Dog) when they unexpectedly ran out in front of our car in Botswana over twenty years ago. I knew they were special in an instant. Since then I have become fascinated by them as a species and have been fortunate enough to see them in a number of environments. They have an amazing pack structure and are the ultimate collaborators. They face huge challenges and are incredibly vulnerable. I have committed to running for 1000 days to raise funds to try to protect them (and at the same time protecting the many species that share their environment) and to share their story. I am starting this fundraiser on day 607 of running a minimum of 20mins a day, every day.

The painted wolf is also known as the wild dog and painted dog. With only 6500 left in the world, the threat of extinction is real. Yet there is so much we can do now to save them from the brink if we have the resources. Our mission is to raise awareness and funds to keep the painted wolves with us for a long time to come.
