Running for Amyloidosis awareness
What have we signed up for!! Megan, Debbie, Tracey and Lainni have pledged to run(walk and possibly pass out) 100 miles in August. This is a huge challenge for Megan, Tracey and Debbie as we are definitely not runners, and lainni will absolutely put us to shame! Our friend has been through so much this past year and we wanted to try and raise her spirits and support her in sharing awareness of this very rare disease.
Please help support us and motivate us to achieve this goal! Every penny counts!
A message from our friend Lainni❤
As you may or may not have known my dad was diagnosed with Systemic Al amyloidosis with isolated cardiac involvement mayo stage 3 last year. Unfortunately my dad passed away early this year whilst going through treatment.
Amyloidosis is a rare, often fatal disease, caused by accumulation of protein fibres, amyloid, in the tissues. The Fund provides invaluable support for research and patients in the National Amyloidosis Centre at the Royal Free Hospital.
A few of my friends along with myself have pledged to run 100miles each in Aug to try and raise awareness.
More information about Royal Free Charity: Our mission is to support patients every step of the way to make their experience the best it can be, through funding extra patient services, improving the hospital environment and providing grants for medical research.
