Running for corn and beans for the Tarahumara

Donation protected
My name is Luis Martinez. My hometown is Juarez city in Mexico and I reside in both Juarez and El Paso TX.

My gratitude goes to your for your donation, by running 1 km per dollar donated, from the Gila Forest in New Mexico, USA, all the way to Chihuahua towards Urique, running the Caballo Blanco ultra on the last day of this journey!

On February and March of 2020 we ran and pedaled 2000 km from Boulder CO to Urique to raise funds for corn and beans for the Tarahumara community in the Chihuahua Sierras!

We'll be running from Feb 26th to March 6th of 2022, running across New Mexico, Texas, and Chihuahua, roughly 1000 km trying to raise funds to buy corns and beans for the Tarahumara in Chihuahua, Mexico, running 80 km on the last day in the Ultra Caballo Blanco, an ultramarathon held annually in the town of Urique, Chihuahua. It saw the light as Micah True's efforts to preserve the Tarahumara natives culture and running heritage.

The event awards seed corn vouchers to all runners who complete the distance, in addition to prize money, being one of the most important sources of economy support for the Raramuri in Urique, Chihuahua.

The Tarahumara basic diet is beans and corn, which the town mostly depends on to support the Tarahumara. Our goal is to arrive at Urique and buy all the corn and beans that we can, and distribute it with the Tarahumara families that needs it the most.
