Running for Down syndrome
Donation protected
On June 25th, five fearless women--Natalia Abdalah, Lindsey Lamont, Hallie Levine, Jill Norton and Erin Wells--will run a half marathon in Fairfield CT. We are five women coming from very diverse backgrounds, but we all have one thing in common: we are all proud warrior moms of young kids with Down syndrome, and we are joining forces to raise money for the policy arm of the National Down Syndrome Congress.
Why are we doing this? Because the National Down Syndrome Congress--the leading national resource of support and information on Down syndrome--has been working tirelessly on Capitol Hill to make sure the needs of our children are being met. Whether it's lobbying to preserve Medicaid (a lifeline to providing support for our kids when they reach adulthood) or fighting for the right to a free and appropriate public education, they have been on the forefront of the disability rights movement, always advocating for our children and refusing to give up. Now, more than ever, we need their voices, to ensure that the hard won victories of the last fifty years for individuals with Down syndrome are not swept back.
We hope you will support us by making a donation. Any amount is greatly appreciated. We have a grueling couple months of training ahead of us, but when we're hobbling along at the 12 mile mark we'll think of our awesome kiddos-- Henry and Iris and January and Jo Jo and Sophia--and find the strength to make it to the finish line!

Thank you!
Eight year old Sophia loves hamming it up with siblings Dahlia, Susana, and Eric.
18 month old January accompanies mom Jill on all her training runs.
Erin with her awesome husband Tim, and two young sons, Eli (3) and Henry (10 months).
Jo Jo splashing it up with her BFF, Lily.
Warrior mom Natalia crossing the finish line of the Fairfield half last year with all three of her girls.
