Running for Firefighter Families
This weekend, 11th and 12th of January, myself and five of my colleagues will be running over 250kms in the happiest place on Earth, Disneyworld!
We have been training for this event for months but unfortunately we are coming from a place far from the happiest place on Earth at the moment, Australia.
While 250kms is a long distance it is less then 1% of the 31500 square kms of bush land that has burnt in Australia over the past few months. Homes have been lost, millions of animals have perished and 23 people have died in the fires.
To help raise awareness and contribute to those families of firefighters who have sadly lost someone we will be running in their memory and raising funds which will go directly to the families of the three firefighters (Samuel McPaul, Geoffrey Keaton and Andrew O'Dwyer) who were tragically killed while on duty.
Any small donation would be much appreciated
To ensure your donations are dealt with appropriately, a RFS beneficiary will be appointed to withdraw and deposit funds into the firefighter family accounts.
