Running for Gracemount Mansion Project
Donation protected
Four teachers (Stuart McLeod, Sophie Walker,
Gary Grennan and Deborah Sewell) from Gracemount Primary School are putting on their running shoes to raise funds for Gracemount Mansion Project by taking part in the Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday 26th May 2024.
We can't thank them enough as there are so many other worthy causes they could support.
Their support shows how much the Gracemount Mansion site means to the the local primary and high school young people and teachers, who regularly use the site for outdoor learning and much needed respite for young people who require a bit downtime from the normal school day. Local community partners, Transition Edinburgh South (TES) and Scran Academy, also deliver essential projects onsite and amongst other things work with youths who have become disengaged from school, providing them with a 'life line' into the working world. Trees and Seas Outdoor Adventures regularly deliver activities on site for younger people and aim to enrich the lives of children, families and carers through outdoor play and nature connections in South East Edinburgh.
Gracemount Mansion project, established by Gracemount Mansion Development Trust, is taking ownership of Gracemount Mansion and grounds to reopen as a community hub, for the community, by the community. The vision is to offer inclusive activities and support for all the community and beyone.
