Running for My Family: A Fundraiser for My Loved Ones

Donation protected
Event Description:
This April, I am undertaking an extraordinary challenge to support my brother-in-law, my sister, my nieces, and my parents, who are all going through incredibly difficult times.

The Challenge:
I will run 14.5 kilometres every single day from April 1st to April 22nd, covering a total of 320 kilometres over 22 days. In addition, I will complete an 80-kilometer Ultra Marathon on April 26th, bringing my total distance for the month to 403 kilometres (equivalent to 250 miles).

To further involve the community and bring everyone together in support, I will also be hosting a six-hour endurance event at my gym. This event will bring teams of participants together to see how far they can travel over the course of six hours on bike, rower, and ski machines. The goal is to push limits, have fun, and come together to support these vital causes.

Why This Means So Much:
My brother-in-law has been diagnosed with acute leukaemia, which has left him unable to work and in need of significant financial support. This challenge is designed to help provide for him, my sister, and their two young daughters during this difficult time.

At the same time, my mother has been battling bowel cancer. After undergoing chemotherapy, she has been informed that there is no further treatment available, and she is now receiving end-of-life care. My father has been a constant support, but both of them now face overwhelming emotional and financial burdens. 50% of all funds raised will go directly to helping my parents during this challenging time, alleviating some of the strain they are experiencing.

How You Can Help:
Your support is crucial. You can contribute to the fundraiser by making a donation, no matter how big or small. Every penny counts and will directly assist my family as they face these battles. The funds raised will be distributed in the following way:

  • 50% will go to support my brother-in-law, sister, and nieces, helping cover medical expenses and daily living costs.
  • 50% will go to my parents, to help ease the financial burden whilst my mother is still with us and to support my father.

I will be documenting my journey throughout the month, sharing my runs, progress, and the challenges faced along the way. If you want to join me in making a difference, you can also participate in the gym's six-hour endurance event, or you can simply donate to the cause.

Why Donate:
This is not just a physical challenge; it is a labour of love and a call for support for those who need it most. Every dollar donated will go directly to helping my family during their most difficult time, and your generosity will provide them with the financial relief and support they so desperately need.

Together, we can make a meaningful impact, show our love and compassion for those struggling, and help my family find hope in the face of unimaginable hardship.

Join me in this fight. Every mile run, every dollar donated, and every team that participates brings us one step closer to easing their burden and showing them they are not alone. Thank you for your support.
