Running for Pam and Ali
I thought I knew a little bit about advocacy. And then I met Pam O'Donnell.
Half of Pam's family were killed by a drugged and distracted driver. Tim, her husband, and Bridget, her youngest daughter. Only Pam and Ali are left.
What compounded the tragedy, difficult in its own right, was that Pam had just survived brain cancer.
The stories Pam has told me about the support her family gave her while she fought this disease have never ceased to amaze me. They've taught me to be grateful for my good health. And my ability to run.
Pam speaks in high schools to raise awareness about the dangers of drugged and distracted driving. She does incredible work in the midst of great grief. A donation to her foundation saves lives.
When I run #theBigSurreal Half Marathon this October, I'm running for her and Ali. And for Tim and Bridget. For the whole O'Donnell family.
Will you be "All In" with me?
