Hi ~ Welcome to my marathon fundraising page!
When my son Calvin was born we were quite surprised. He was not only born at just 25 weeks and 5 days, weighing only 1lb 6oz, but he was also born with Trisomy 21, also known as Down Syndrome. Our emotions took many twists and turns in those early days and I remember being amazed that there was person and an organization that wanted to CONGRATULATE us and CELEBRATE our dear Calvin, who we already loved so much. Words will fail me to describe what it meant to have someone enter our grief and confusion with pure light and assurances that everything would be okay if we just gave him what every other baby needs - love.
Will to join me in making a difference? I'm running my FIRST marathon in October 2021 to benefit Jack's Basket, and any donation will help make an impact. More information about Jack's Basket: Our mission is to celebrate babies with Down syndrome. We strive to ensure that every new and expectant parent is provided resources and avenues of support within the community. We aim to educate medical providers on how to discuss the diagnosis in an unbiased way in hopes that having a baby with Down syndrome is celebrated like any other.
