Running in memory of Toby Hayward-Seers

The Bectu team will be running the Regents Park 5k and 10k on Saturday 27th April, in memory of our much missed colleague and friend Toby Hayward-Seers who passed away in April 2023 after suffering a cardiac arrest whilst running the Barcelona Marathon.

Toby was a keen and experienced runner and a passionate trade unionist. We are commemorating him by supporting something he was passionate about and raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY), a charity that raises awareness of young sudden cardiac death. All funds raised will be donated to an ongoing memorial fund in Toby's name.

More information about Cardiac Risk in the Young: Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) was established in 1995 to prevent young sudden cardiac deaths (YSCD, SADS) through awareness, screening and research; and to support affected families. CRY funds fast-track services at the CRY Centre for Inherited Cardiovascular Conditions and Sports Cardiology and the CRY Centre for Cardiac Pathology.
