Running Rebels Youth Track and Field Club Needs Community Support to Practice at Benicia High School

Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit the Running Rebels Track And Field Club (Hercules Running Rebels), and any donation will help make an impact.

 

The Running Rebels Track and Field Team serves children, ages 5 - 18 in Benicia, Vallejo and nearby cities in Contra Costa County.

 

Recently, the team has added 50 students from Vallejo and Benicia, who are hoping to practice at the Benicia High track. The school district’s fee is $3,500 for the season. We need your help to have a place to practice.

 

The Running Rebels excels due to the hard work (very hard work) of its members. The coaches and athletes have high expectations. Running Rebels team members have won national championships and finished in the top ten in the country many times in its 20-year history. Last year, The Running Rebels placed second in the AAU West Coast Championships in Reno.

 

The fees and insurance costs for access to the Benicia High School track, where the team hopes to practice this year for the first time, beginning next month, are $3,500. We have received an anonymous donation of $500 to kick off the GoFundMe campaign. Because face-to-face fundraising is not practical or safe now, we must rely on donations from generous families and friends like you.

 

The team practices four times each week. We all know how valuable after-school activities, team experiences, improving skills, and perseverance are to our children.

 

The program meets the needs of all participants, regardless of their talent or ability to pay. Team membership costs $300/ year. Team members face significant additional costs to travel to meets throughout the West, as well as national championships across the country. The organization is led solely by volunteers who support the program.

 

We appreciate your help in making it to our goal of $3,500, so that we can practice at Benicia High School.

 

You can show Vallejo/ Benicia youth that the team motto, "Divided We Stand Invisible, United We Stand Invincible," is true. I appreciate your help in supporting the success of our youth. Our first meet is on March 5th, and we have commenced practicing at local parks to prepare as best we can. Gaining access to the Benicia High School Track will be of great assistance.
