Running to honor Anne Skoglund
Tax deductible
The world lost an incredible light when Anne Skoglund died earlier this year. She is deeply missed by those who were lucky enough to know her. Anne was a talented runner and had the most generous and giving heart! To continue to honor and strive to be more like Anne, a group of people who love her will be running the Women Run the Cities 5k/10K/10 mile in Anne's honor on May 21, 2022.
Anne started a scholarship fund at South High School over 20 years ago as a broke college student. She used her own money to start this fund in hopes of doing some good in this world!
Here is a direct quote about this scholarship from a letter Anne wrote to a friend on 6/28/01:
"So I have some exciting news... well at least in my opinion. I am going to set up a South High Scholarship Fund for (ELL) English Language Learner students for higher education. It will be small at first, but I hope to get it to earn interest and get others to donate as well. I am pumped because I really want to make a difference in this world and this is one way I can."
Anne truly did make a huge difference in this world. Please help us continue to live out Anne's goal of making a positive and meaningful impact on other people's lives by donating money toward our efforts to Run for Anne. All proceeds raised will go directly to the Anne Skoglund Scholarship Fund at South High School.
