I am running the Cleveland Marathon (May 18) because resistance is a marathon. While our civil rights, freedom of the press, our very jobs, and, for some, the ability to live in this country are all under attack, we must endure. We must persevere through this together and take actions like supporting the ACLU in its lawsuits against the Administration.

Many feel hopeless or that they cannot take action to protest and change the destiny of the United States in the wake of the second Trump Administration. Congress may not be able to or will not take action to protect our Constitutional civil rights and freedoms, but the judicial branch can.

This fundraiser seeks to provide small donations to the ACLU, meaningful actions that can help fund lawsuits against the Trump Administration. Whether it's $13.10, $26.20, $50, or $100, your small donation is working in the one remaining functional part of our government. And you will have taken meaningful action.

I can't guarantee that we'll win every case, as there are many Trump appointed justices, but even many of them have issued opinions against the president. If this action isn't right for you, I encourage you to take another one:

Support another nonprofit that is suing the Administration
Take action on the local or state level to protect constitutional rights
Contact your state DA and tell them to take action
Protest or organize a protest to protect constitutional rights
Consider running for office, God knows the Congressmen and Senators we have today could use an upgrade
Or, if you still think it works, write your Representative or Senator

Mood follows action. You are not hopeless, and together we can accomplish great things.
