We have a great opportunity to join together to support a wonderful son, brother and friend to many people. Many of you know of Richard's journey the last 26 years as he has been an Overcomer, in his current physical condition with quadriplegia, related to a car accident.
With a recent surgery, he has doctor's orders to be on a special bed for a total of 6 weeks while in the hospital in Rapid City, SD. His mom, and sometimes family, drive round trip, approximately 60 miles, often daily, to assist in his care. Often, Sandy, his mom, stays overnights, as a "watchman" (or watchwoman!), to assist Richard and enjoy each other's company. This in itself has been an added expense with gas and food etc. Upon discharge from the hospital in about 4 weeks, there are some immediate needs. Those include a new air mattress overlay for his bed at home and a lift to transfer him to and from the bed and wheelchair. Richard's medical insurance is very limited with coverage of these items. Another need is his wheelchair equipped van that he uses to go to work with. It is in need of repair or replacement as it is over 24 years old. Honestly, most of us who know the Moeller family, know the need is far greater than the items we have listed and the dollar amount set. The journey this whole family has been on for 26 years, has taken a toll financially. Richard has been able to work as a BELOVED teacher and mentor (of our children and maybe yours too!) for almost 28 years!!! Richard has inspired, loved, encouraged, and motivated us in our own journeys. Many of you from all around the world, have been impacted by this AWESOME man of God!
Bev and Tom Schoenstedt are asking you to rally together, to give back to someone who has given much and served so well. Your prayers will always be greatly appreciated, and right now before Richard returns home in about 4 weeks, there is an immediate need for about $12,000. (AND we can exceed that amount!)
