Appalachian Trail Thru-Run
You how important it is to get young people connected to nature?
This summer, I am raising funds for the Nature Conservancy by running the entire Appalachian Trail (AT). That's 2,180 miles from June to August, averaging 40-50 miles per day.
I'm Nate Stanis and I’m a wild about preserving nature, both for the benefits for body and soul of getting out into natural setting and just for the pure beauty of it. Wilderness has been a refuge and a home for me, and I am dedicated to giving back to its preservation for generations to come.
I'm also a botany graduate student and vegan ultra-distance runner. I want to be one of the few women who have through-run the AT, but only for a great cause.
I'm raising the funds that go directly to the Nature Conservancy on CrowdRise . Learn more about my run here. The funds raised here on GoFundMe will directly support the costs of the run. Generous friends are supporting the run with driving, food and gear hauling, but I need to purchase/rent all those items -- especially a van -- along with paying travel costs, food, camping permits and gear.
Your help is vital to the success of this massive undertaking, and I will share video and Nature Conservancy updates with all my supporters.
You support here makes it possible to create the $100,000 donation this run will fundraise that will go directly to the Nature conservancy. That's a huge return on investment!
Thank you for your support!
