What do a Pastor, a Professional Wrestler and First Nations people have in common?
The Bird's Nest.
Founded by Professional Wrestler and ECCW Canadian Champion, Andy Bird, The Bird's Nest is a registered, provincial, non-profit society in the province of BC. With a group of volunteers, we are dedicated to teaching essential life skills, leading to the accomplishment of life-long as well as newly acquired goals.
Established in January 2016, we have helped 13 First Nations individuals to do exactly that. Now building community foundations, the word of The Bird's Nest spreads further each day. With the expansion and awareness of The Bird's Nest comes more help required both financially and volunteer based help.
David Edgerton, a Pastor at St. George's Angelican Church (23500 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge) have been so supportive of the mission The Nest is on, donating funds in the past. David has now dedicated his time, effort and body towards running an ASTONISHING 42.2 km marathon, with all the funds raised being donated to The Bird's Nest.
The marathon takes place on May 7th, starting near Queen Elizabeth Park and ending near West Georgia Street.
Currently, our next goal is to purchase a vehicle for The Bird's Nest. The main intent of the vehicle, preferably a full-size pick-up truck, would be for:
~The pick up/delivery of furniture donations from our supporters.
~Business opportunities for The Nest members.
~Transportation for The Nest members - Airports, Work, School, Dentist/Doctor/Other Appointments Etc.
~And More...
With support like David's, as well as the support of all of you, dreams come true easier for each member of The Bird's Nest.
