Help Us Honour Rupert’s Memory and Support Sally

We are heartbroken to announce the sudden death of our incredible father Rupert Watts, who left us on December 8th, 2024.

Rupert was a pure force of nature in so many lives, and is utterly irreplaceable. With a raucous laugh, over-the-top bear hugs, an unstoppable wit and a huge talent for mimicry, he lit up every room and occasion he attended, often shaking people out of their shells to join in the fun of life with him. His effervescent presence also came with great kindness and generosity of spirit, and would open up his soul to make you feel like the most important person in the room (which at that time you most certainly were to him). He leaves behind his wife Sally, the head-over-heels love of his life, his children Judd, Sam and Rosie, and his grandchildren Archie, Monty, Harry and Teddy.

The Need for Support

Our family is pulling together to do everything we can to navigate the tough days ahead. Unfortunately, Rupert was not able to leave behind an estate, and we’ve found ourselves facing the financial burden of arranging a respectful and dignified funeral for him, while giving him a send-off that will accommodate everyone who would like to come and celebrate his life.

In addition, our mother Sally, who has been a constant support for our father through the years, is now facing unexpected financial challenges in the months ahead. With no estate to rely on and limited retirement provisions, she will need financial assistance as she enters this new chapter of her life.

After much thought, instead of relying on generous family members who have already offered to help, Rupert’s children have decided to ease this burden on a few, and turn to all our beloved family and friends for help. We are starting this fundraiser to raise the necessary funds to cover both funeral costs and provide some basic financial support for Sally in the coming months.
