Ruperto Rosales (Papa Fio)

Ruperto Rosales, 85, passed away peacefully from a long-term illness at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield on December 7th, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born in Guatemala and was a long-time resident of Lynn, MA. He is survived by his five children - Paty, Oscar, Edwin, Thelma, and Dora - as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He had a charismatic personality and won the hearts of many, especially the wonderful nurses at Salem Hospital who took great care of him each time he was in their care. He enjoyed having his traditional Guatemalan food, spending time with family telling jokes, making his grandkids laugh, and taking walks around the City of Lynn, with Kings Beach being his favorite until he was unable to walk anymore. He fought a long battle over the last few years, in and out of hospitals, yet he never lost his faith in God. We will miss him dearly. Que en paz descanse su alma. We love you, Papa Fio.

Ruperto Rosales, de 85 años, falleció pacíficamente a causa de una enfermedad prolongada en Baystate Medical Center en Springfield el 7 de diciembre de 2023, rodeado de su familia. Nació en Guatemala y residió durante mucho tiempo en Lynn, MA. Le sobreviven sus cinco hijos: Paty, Oscar, Edwin, Thelma y Dora, así como sus nietos y bisnietos. Tenía una personalidad carismática y se ganó el corazón de muchos, especialmente de las maravillosas enfermeras del Hospital de Salem que lo cuidaron muy bien cada vez que estuvo bajo su cuidado. Le gustaba comer su comida tradicional guatemalteca, pasar tiempo con su familia contando chistes, hacer reír a sus nietos y caminar por la ciudad de Lynn, siendo Kings Beach su favorita hasta que ya no pudo caminar más. Luchó una larga batalla durante los últimos años, dentro y fuera de los hospitales, pero nunca perdió su fe en Dios. Lo vamos a extrañar mucho. Que en paz descanse su alma. Te amamos, papá Fio.
