Help Helen Fight Cancer

Cancer in normal times is challenging enough, but cancer during pandemic times is uniquely difficult. Our dear friend, Helen, has just been diagnosed with cancer. Luckily, the prognosis is good, but the costs add up quickly and will be overwhelming.

Sometime around the holidays, Helen began to feel abnormally fatigued, and shortly after, began experiencing increasingly intense pain.  Last month, tests confirmed cancer. 

Fortunately, the prognosis is reason to be optimistic. If you know Helen, you are not surprised to know she’s fighting this head on. She will be undergoing surgery, chemo and radiation therapy, supplemented with holistic and nutritional methods to support her immune system and to mitigate the toll of treatment on the body.  

She’s scheduled to begin chemo and radiation treatment, with time needed to recover afterwards. She’ll have to take time off work and be isolated at home while recuperating. Helen is receiving much support from her colleagues at Sony Pictures and is an extremely active member of the Analysts’ branch of the Motion Picture Editor’s Guild. She is also an incredibly talented writer and filmmaker. While she is lucky to have insurance through the guild, there are a lot of out of pocket co-pays, expenses, tests and medical bills that are quickly piling up during this time. There will be post chemo and radiation treatments that are not covered by insurance . Let’s help her relieve that stress and speed her along on the path to recovery without the added burden of financial strain and debt.

The world needs Helen at her full strength and so do we!
