Hi We are Michelle and David Hallford-Nye the heartbroken mother and Stepfather of Russel.

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our dear 17 year old son, Russel Burdette-Deakin. Russel, a young boy full of promise and love, battled internal struggles that led to his untimely departure through suicide.

Russel went missing on the 6th September 2023 from home and was found 26 days later (2nd October 2023) in a dense wooded area of mote park, Maidstone having unfortunately taken his own life within 24 hours of going missing.

Our world is destroyed and family will never be the same.

As we navigate the immense pain and loss, we find ourselves confronted with the unexpected financial burden of arranging his funeral. Suicide is a complex issue, and we want to be open about the circumstances surrounding Russel's passing. Mental health struggles are often silent battles, and it's our hope that by sharing his story, we can contribute to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health issues.
