Russell and Melissa Rieman needs your help
Russell and Melissa Rieman need your help!
On October 28, 2021, Russ Rieman suffered a massive stroke. His health crisis is far from over. Complications from 3 brain surgeries kept him in ICU for 40 days. On New Year’s Day, while planning the move to a neuro specific rehab, doctors discovered an infection that resulted in another surgery and a return to the ICU. Russ will need intensive therapy for at least a year.
Melissa is Russ’ full-time caregiver and has taken over running their family business. Daughter Riley is in her last semester of high school. She will be attending college in the fall. Son RJ is a sophomore at Oklahoma State University.
The Rieman’s unending service to our community is inspirational. Melissa is currently the HPHS Senior Activity co-Chair, was the HPHS PTA President and served as the first chair of the Scots Challenge. She was one of the first chairs of HPMS Raider Challenge and served as an Executive Board member at Bradfield Elementary, where she was auction chair two years. One of those years, Russ was her co-chair. Melissa and Russ have both served in countless leadership roles in our community. Melissa is a past President of the Friends of the UP Library, past Chairman of the Board of Friends of Fair Park, and also served on the Executive Board of Children’s Medical Center Women’s Auxiliary. She has held various positions in La Fiesta de la seis Banderas. Their philanthropic activities extend beyond Dallas and the Park Cities. If there is a need they fill it, and if there is a job to be done, they do it.
Russ attends mass at Christ the King, and the Riemans are active at Highland Park United Methodist Church where Melissa and Russ have both volunteered as Sunday School teachers.
After doing so much to help others, they really need our help. The medical expenses are extensive, and the long-term financial implications of this health crisis are requiring them to make life-changing decisions. Join us in showing our appreciation for their service to Dallas and the Park Cities by helping alleviate some of the mounting financial burden of his ongoing care. Any and every donation will make a dramatic difference in Russ’ recovery.
Let’s help the family that helps our community in so many ways!
