Russell Doty Beat Cancer

Hello, my name is Megan Doty, and I am truly blessed with an amazing family. Family is the most important thing in this world, but when you hear about someone being very sick in your own family, let alone hearing the word Cancer. It just strikes a different kind of hit to your heart.

My father-in-law, Russell Doty, is very loved & dear to our family. He is one of the kindest men you will ever know. Always willing to do whatever he can to help others, even if it means that he would go without. He received the news about 5 weeks ago that he had Lung Cancer. It definitely hit hard in our hearts to find out such a wonderful man is very sick. He started Chemotherapy and radiation about 3 weeks ago and starts back this week with Radiation. He is a strong man, but let me tell you this has hit him hard. He is unable to work right now because it has just been wearing him out completely. He is one stubborn man who would never ask for anything, so that’s why I am here.

His wonderful wife Karen Doty, has been working non-stop to help and provide for everything she can. She is a CNA and works nights so she can be there for her husband during the day to help with his needs and take him to the multiple doctor appointments they have trying to beat this. It is taking a huge toll on them emotionally, physically and financially. Karen has just started a position at a new facility while working part-time at another to try to make ends meet, but it just doesn’t seem to be doing it.

With all the medical bills, gas, and help that is needed they are having to pick and choose what is the most important and pay those bills. I know it is a hard time for everyone so we completely understand if you are unable to help at the moment or can only donate a small amount. Every little bit helps in helping this amazing man get by in his time of need.
