Russell Dykins (Dusty)

Russell (Dusty) was diagnosed with lung cancer in September 2023

He touched the hearts of many people. A dedicated Mechanic who loves his cars, especially the older cars. Dusty had a great sense of humour and was always making people around him laugh and smile, he would go out of his way just to help anyone.

Dusty has been on this earth with us all for 57 years and he has a story for every single day of his life.

Unfortunately Dustys cancer was aggressive and spread. On the 23rd of April Dusty took a turn for the worse, and ended up back in hospital, where they told the family that he was looking at anywhere from 2 days to 2 weeks left with us. We followed his wishes and bought him back to his home.

Sadly, Dusty passed away peacefully on the 5th of may 2024 at home with all his family around him. After a challenging fight with cancer, he fought all the way to his final breath. As all the nurses said “He is a fighter”.

We have decided to set up this page for any family or friends wanting to contribute towards Dustys send off to give him the best possible.
