Donation protected
Money is being raised to help Russell/family with unforeseen expenses brought on by a tragedy that has affected him and his family. Any amount is greatly appreciated. No amount is too little. He has faced a hardship that no teenager should have to endure.
Public report from the local sheriff’s indicates:
On February 7, 2022, at 02:35 am, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to John Lowery Road in Laurens County in reference to a suspicious person call. Upon arrival, deputies located a 16 year old male with multiple gunshot wounds. He identified the shooter as Sunoco Wiggins. He also told deputies the incident took place next door at 1120 John Lowery road. At that time, deputies on scene saw smoke and flames coming from that residence. Laurens County EMS and Rural Fire responded to the scene. The injured juvenile was transported to Fairview Park Hospital. Rural Fire extinguished the blaze and located a body inside the residence. The victim was identified as Shina Wiggins (55), the juvenile’s mother. She and her husband, Sunoco Wiggins (57) were currently going through a divorce. Sunoco Wiggins car was located later in Soperton, Ga. Laurens County Sheriff’s Office SRT, along with Treutlen County Sheriff’s Office and Soperton Police Department responded to the residence where Wiggins car was located. Wiggins exited the house and shot himself before law enforcement could effect an arrest. He was pronounced dead. The juvenile is expected to recover from his injuries.

*Update-Russell is in stable condition in a Macon hospital. He does have a lengthy road ahead of him to recover fully. Monetary donations are being received to help with all aspects of this tragedy that may include, but not limited to: hospital stay, travel, funeral expenses for the mother and place of dwelling. Please share and lift this family up in your prayers.

*Update-Russell is healing well from his wounds. He has returned to most of his normal activity. Therapy is continuing and hoping for a bright future ahead despite the loss associated with this horrendous situation.
