Ruth's Ministry - Caring for Others

Every Thursday up to 140 people visit Ruth's Ministry located at United Church of Christ Fort Lauderdale and receive a delicious meal, clothing, shoes, toiletries, and even a to-go goodie bag. Collaboration with the community makes this ministry possible. Ruth's Ministry also assists with referrals to resources which include housing, job assistance and insurance.
Ruth's Ministry was born over 14 years ago by Ruth Earn who began by the gift of a peanut butter sandwich to a hungry person.  Today the outreach program provides more than 8,000 meals per year.
Ruth's Ministry receives a large amount of donations of food, clothing, toiletries and more but there is a financial need to meet all the costs.
