Rutland Farm Park Need Your Help

Donation protected

Hello, thank you taking the time to read this.

First of all, we would like to start with a big thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last 3 years since we opened the gates again to the public, despite all that we have battled since then. An even bigger thank you to those who have supported us during these terrible times.
Covid has been tough, not just us, but so many businesses and it’s been ever so sad to see so many businesses close down.

As most of you know, Rutland Farm Park is a small family business. We are a traditional farm park who specialise in rare & native animal breed in a Victorian farm setting.

We have so many exciting projects in mind but
sadly with being closed we are not getting a
stable income to keep up with the general work and animal care.

Due to being closed for most of last year we did not generate our usual income
to get us through the winter. Staff are
furloughed of course, but paying for animal
upkeep has to come from somewhere.
With the awful weather we are getting the
grounds are flooded, the animals are inside
demolishing hay like there is no tomorrow, and
our geese are shut in due to Avian Bird flu. This means extra food expenses because we wouldn’t normally buy them feed as they are free ranged around the farm.

Our hay and straw is rapidly
disappearing but we do not have any customer
income to buy more.

We desperately need your help to help us get
through this winter. We’ve battled hard for the
last 3 years, please don’t let covid be the end for Rutland Farm Park like it had been for many others.

Our outcome at the moment is anything dork £5,000 and upwards. We have tried to keep our outgoing coats as low as possible but with water bills, Vet bills, Vaccinations, extra food he’s hard to keep afloat at this very difficult time for us all.

Here is a rough price list for some of our main food that we buy -

Pig nuts £7.80 - x7 Bags a week

Mixed corn £7.50 - currently 4/5 bags

Layers Pellets £7.50 - 1 / 2 bags a week

Duck £8.25 - 1 bag a week

Alpaca £10.95 - 1 bag a week

Mollie Chop £6.20 - 1 bag every fortnight

Rabbit /guinea food £12.95 - 4 bags fortnightly

Cool mix £8.00 - 2 bags a week

We also have other costs for hay, straw, bedmax, fresh produce, mineral licks and other dietary requirements.

£60 will buy us 12 small bales of hay or one 6ft bale of hay. Somedays we can use 4 of these in a day twice a week, if not more. Lack of dry land and grass means we’re getting through a lot more hay than usual.

£50 will buy us 2 big 6ft Straw bale, We currently use one a day.

£220 will pay for the farrier (every 6/7 weeks)

£46 will buy 4 sheep horslyx mineral blocks

We really hope that we can reopen the gates soon so that we can see you all again.

Thank you from each and everyone of us at Rutland Farm Park.
