Help Heather walk again
Donation protected
My name is Holly, and my sister, Heather, was recently seriously injured in a motorcycle accident. My sister celebrated her 40th birthday in July and was on the cusp of starting a new job. She loves to ride her Harley and is a very safe driver. Unfortunately, not every driver is as safe as my sister.
Heather was driving down Brayton Ave in Fall River, MA, at about 8:30 PM on her way home. She had a green light at the Jefferson Street intersection. However, the driver of the Chrysler sedan did not yield at their red light and just took the turn. As a result, the Chrysler collided with Heather's motorcycle and propelled her into the road. The driver of the Chrysler sedan was unlicensed and did not own the vehicle.
Heather was transported to Rhode Island Hospital, where she underwent immediate emergency surgery. She sustained multiple injuries, including a shattered pelvis, a broken wrist, fractured ribs, vaginal lacerations and a ruptured bladder. Since her surgery, she has been moved to a physical therapy nursing home in Rhode Island, where she will stay for at least the next 12 weeks. Heather's journey to wellness and normalcy has just begun. Presently she cannot walk and is reliant on her nurses and caretakers. Once she can bear weight on her wrist, she will be bound to a wheelchair while undergoing PT to regain strength in her legs. Her life has been put on hold, and since she lives on the 3rd floor, it is unclear when she will be able to return home to her longtime boyfriend, Paulie.
Please help my sister during this challenging time in her life. All donations are appreciated.
