Honoring the Memory of My Father, Jack Cabarios

Hello everyone, my name is Julie Camille Cabarios, and I am the daughter of Jack Cabarios. My father’s journey began in the United States around the year 2000. With determination and a strong work ethic, he devoted himself to supporting our family, eventually saving enough to build his dream home in the Philippines. It was one of his proudest moments. He made our family’s dream come true by giving us a place to call home.

Sadly, a few years later, our lives took a difficult turn. My father was diagnosed with kidney failure, and before we knew it, he was undergoing dialysis. His condition progressed rapidly to end-stage renal disease, which forced him to leave the job he loved. As a devoted daughter, I witnessed firsthand the toll this battle took on him. My once strong, independent father became physically weakened and filled with self-doubt. It was heartbreaking to see him struggle in pain every day.

As his health deteriorated, my father also required bypass surgery. He fell into a coma for three days but, miraculously, pulled through with God’s grace. Despite his recovery, his health continued to decline. The combination of a weakened heart and ongoing dialysis treatments limited his mobility, and over time, he lost muscle mass in his legs, making every movement a source of pain.

A few days ago, my father was rushed to the ER due to low blood pressure. While under the care of doctors, he became unresponsive. Though they were able to revive him, we were told that machines were now keeping him alive. Hearing this while I was in the Philippines was devastating. I felt so helpless, unable to be by his side. I booked the earliest flight, praying for another miracle, and asked the doctors to give him every chance. But just before I left, on September 23rd, I received the call I had been dreading. My father had passed away. My heart shattered. Every memory of him came rushing back, and I saw his face everywhere. The grief was overwhelming, and I spent the entire flight in tears.

I am now reaching out for support to honor my father’s memory. It was his wish to return home to the Philippines, where he could rest in peace with his loved ones. I want to give him the dignified farewell he deserves. A memorial that reflects the love and hard work he put into his life and his family.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will help us bring my father home and give him the final resting place he longed for. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support during this incredibly difficult time. May God bless you all.
