The Body Serve Tennis Podcast

Since January 2015, The Body Serve Tennis Podcast has been covering the sport and its intersections with the “real world” … that is, race, politics, gender and sexuality, money, labour, and pop culture. Our goal has always been to talk about things they don’t talk about on TV, to always do our homework, and to stimulate conversations beyond the sport itself. We are an elder millennial couple living in Toronto who share a frustrating but rewarding obsession with tennis, for its incredible highs and depressing institutional failings. For us, sports are political and it’s futile to argue otherwise.
We’re proud to have remained independent after all these years. We have no brand sponsorships and we don’t work for any major institutions. We want the freedom to talk about topics that are interesting and funny and sometimes difficult and ugly. Our only sponsors are our listeners.
The Body Serve is how we spend our Saturday nights, it’s how we share our days off (which rarely align), it’s how we plan our vacations, and ultimately, it informs how we view tennis. The podcast is a labour of love that originated from our kitchen table, and we hope that it always feels that way. We are biased but we’re honest; we argue and kvetch; we are constantly learning new things and unlearning others.
Last year, your support helped us travel to the US Open, the bett1open in Berlin, and a quick stop at our hometown tournament in Toronto. You help us upgrade our equipment, travel to new tournaments, and most importantly, help us remain fully accountable to you. If you enjoy what we do and want to hear more, here’s a way to do that. Only donate if you can and want to! Thanks for another amazing year.
