Funeral expenses

This Go Fund Me has been established for Lars Tate for final expenses.

July 2022, Lars was given the devastating news of being diagnosed with esophagus cancer. A treatment plan was in place through Mouffit Cancer Center, and he was scheduled to start a treatment plan on 8/4.

Lars Tate attended North Central High School in Indianapolis, Indiana where he was awarded Gatorade National Player of the Year and also received All American honor. Upon graduation, he continued his studies at the University of Georgia where he was awarded All American. If you knew Lars, you know he loved his Dawgs (in every way). In 1988, Lars was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and finished his career with the Chicago Bears in 1990.

Lars’ proudest accomplishment in life was his three beautiful children (Stephan Tate, Donavan Tate and Lauren Tate) and his grandchildren, who he adored (Nevaeh, Ivory, Donavan, Jr. and Tucker).

Lars has been residing in Florida for the past three years (currently St. Petersburg) with his partner (Kelli Edwards), which will require him to be transported to his final resting destination. The family is currently working on the details, and this post will be updated as those are put into place. Being the dawg lover he is, Athens is being strongly considered, but his children and mother (Betty Tate) will be finalized as soon as they are able.
