Help support Haydens Family with Funeral costs and more
Donation protected
After careful thought we have decided to create this fund raising page for our son Hayden. Hayden was brutally shot on October 5th, 2024 at the Belleville, Illinois skate park. Hayden has a long road for recovery. There will be new challenges for him and us as a family. He has spent the last 5 weeks fighting for his life. He suffered 8 gun shot wounds to his chin, throat, chest and abdomen. He has lost a kidney, some intestines, damage to his liver, pancreas, injury to his lungs as well as collapsed lungs. He also has a spinal injury that is believed to have left him paralyzed below the chest/waist area. The throat injuries have ripped his trachea and esophagus apart. It is unsure how those injuries will heal if at all. We are blessed to still have Hayden with us and we have made his fight our own as well. Any help given to make Hayden’s life easier would be greatly appreciated.
Our plan initially is to purchase a used vehicle equipped to take Hayden to and from appointments once he is released from the hospital. This cost could be anywhere from 16 thousand to 30 thousand dollars. Our goal is a little high but between the medical costs, needing proper transportation and any additional needs required for Hayden and this goal seems reasonable. Our goal with any funds raised is to put half into a trust fund for Hayden for when he gets older to spend appropriately and to make his life easier and more accessible. Our main priority is our son’s mental and physical health and well being. I along with other family and friends will update this page as things progress. Please pass our link to friends, family and loved ones. There is no such thing as too small of a donation. Whatever you can give is all we can ask for. If you are not in a position to donate please pass this along to your friends and family. The further it goes the closer we get to our goal. We can not thank everyone enough!
Hayden is a sixteen year old young man with a beautiful smile and love for life. He loves skating at the local skating rink, cliff jumping, dirt bike riding and is full of antics. He is a sweet kid with a kind heart, a love for animals and full of spirit. He is the strongest and bravest person I have ever been blessed to know.
