Lets get them to Mexico

First of all, I just want to say thank you for taking the time to even read and consider looking at this page... If it only (said lightly) raises awareness of said situation, then it's a positive move in itself. 

This page is about a man called Mike, his beautiful wife Danielle, and his even more stunning daughter Amelia. ‍‍

Let's summarise Mike in a paragraph (don't kill me): A Derbyshire/Scottish lad by birth, but soon to become a Yorkshire lad (good man). Typical really because he fits the mould well... ‍He'll moan about stuff like we all do (the price of anything, weather, work, and the fact Manchester United lose often LOL). 

He enjoys a good pint, seeks the sunshine, has impeccable taste in clothing, loves a good bargain, and most of all has a fantastic sense of humour that if you don't understand...well.. tough s#!t really. 'A spade is a spade' with this guy. He's a typical bloke! 

A quick insight into these two girls, because this page is about Mike... However, I need to paint a picture here of what kind of people this guy has around him. 

Danielle: A ray of sunshine, always makes the room glow and laugh in her presence, is the most precious friend, soul sister, and partner in crime anyone could ever ask for. Kind of girl that will cook up a storm even when the fridge is empty to CONSTANTLY feed you always looks phenomenal at any point in the day (cow) and will 100% take a b*#!h out for her loved ones, or if you go anywhere near her eyelashes.

Amelia: A kid with a teenage/adult outlook on life, a beauty in her own league, the DOUBLE of her mother in her sarcastic ways, with humour to match. An absolute GEM in a pile of duds. This kid will go far for sure...... I mean not in the cleaning business kinda thing because lord have mercy... her bedroom.

However elsewhere for sure. This family is the kind of family that welcomes you into their home, life, and loving tendencies without a question towards your history. Don't get me wrong, the 'micky' may be taken upon arrival‍, however, what do you expect from a typical Yorkshire family that smiles when it rains, makes a sad day a happy one, and helps you out no matter how much or little they may have to give. Along with being as sore towards bill prices rising and the never-ending rain in this goddam country.  

In 2021 life changed...a LOT. 

Mike got a devastating diagnosis of aggressive Prostate Cancer .... jesus how the world flipped upside down for this family on that very day. Can you imagine them words hitting your ears? Having your life entirely turned on its axis in a single sentence? Yeah... neither can i. 

Right... it was time for action. LET'S DO THIS.

Everyone that could and would be pulled together and did all they could to help, but unfortunately as you well know... cancer doesn't listen to words, gifts, or reassurance. It has NO regard for ANY of this. However, god dam it we will continue to do it anyway. 

Mike has so far undergone hormonal therapy, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and steroidal treatment, and done so like a CHAMPION may I add..... Let's fast forward a bit.... things were looking up. His PSA dropped. 

FINALLY some decent news! Then reality hits and yet again it raises, oh but wait... then it drops... and round and round we go continuously. 

This man still goes to work every day, maintains a smile, and gets out of bed EVERY DAY, even with a cloud that lingers constantly over this family. Tell me you could do this easily? Because I couldn't...

A day came that couldn't possibly have been any worse, I guess you thought I'd told you the part that would make your heart crush and feel sad for them..... the words: "life-prolonging treatment" were said. How the hell are you supposed to process that? How can someone still get up and continue life as 'normal' with THAT?? 

This being said life came into perspective... memories being made aren't just 'farts in the wind' they are REAL memories that most of us would take for granted, and I want to help make more.  

This guy wants to go to Mexico... righteo... let's get this done then! As we all can assume, this trip for a family of 3 in a place where it's nice to stay will cost dollar... probably a LOT of it too. 

So to save them doing overtime, and spending even less time together to afford it, let's chip in shall we? Let's get these beauties on a trip of a lifetime because let's face it... they need the break. It doesn't matter what you can give, small or large all helps in the long run. 

Seriously thank you for listening, and as I said if you can't give anything towards this page, I hope it makes you realise that life is precious and not to be taken for granted... I'll take that instead. I'll also apologise for spelling and grammar because GOD DAMN I am terrible with it. 

I only ask one thing, PLEASE can you keep this on the down-low... if I know these people well enough. They would probably go nuts at me making this page in the first place. (I will take the hit if so guys, stay anonymous if you want to)
