Need For Surgery
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,
My name is Hector, and I am reaching out to you today to share my challenging journey. As some of you may already know, two years ago, I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a rare type of bone cancer. Despite the odds, I faced the diagnosis with courage, determined to fight for my life and my family.
On April of 2022, I was transferred to the hospital to undergo an emergency surgery to replace my femur because of a pathological fracture I suffered due to the extensive damage the cancer had cause on my bones. Unfortunately, what should have been a step towards recovery turned into a nightmare when the reconstruction surgery was not done properly, leaving me to live in constant pain and discomfort. Six months after my hip replacement surgery I felt something was wrong. After multiple tests and multiple medical opinions, I was informed that I developed a rare but severe form of arthritis on the side of the prosthesis and I that I needed to undergo a new and more extensive reconstruction surgery if I wanted a chance to have a better quality of life.
All this will require a minimum of 1 year of constant medical appointments, the help of a full-time caregiver, physical therapy and rehabilitation. The prospect of having to go through all this again is both, physically and mentally, daunting and very stressful.
As a father, I have always strived to be the pillar of strength and support for my family, but my health challenges have limited my ability to be there for them in the way I wish I could. The pain and limitations I endure every day make even the simplest tasks an uphill battle and have made it impossible for me to return to work.
After long consideration and discussion with my family we had decide to do the new surgery with the hopes of a better quality of life. This is why with shame and sadness we decided to turn to the generosity of others one last time.
Your kind contributions will help me access the medical treatment I need to undergo a new hip replacement. The funds not only will help us alleviate the financial burden, but also allow us to focus on my recovery.
No amount is too small, and every penny raised will make a profound difference in my life and the lives of those I hold dear. Your support, whether through donations or sharing this campaign with your network, means the world to me and my family. All the money collected will be used to pay surgery copays, rehabilitation and other costs involved in this kind of procedure.
Once again, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read my story and considering supporting my journey towards healing and reclaiming my life.
