Ryan Filby’s Kidney Transplant
Donation protected
As you might already know, Ryan was shockingly diagnosed with Stage 5 (end-stage) Renal Failure due to hydronephrosis in 2019. With a huge help from friends, family, and good-hearted samaritans, we were able to get Ryan the surgery he needed to start emergency Peritoneal Dialysis in 2020 and maintain his nightly dialysis, prescriptions, and supplements.
During this time, Ryan has moved back to Redding, CA putting his mental health first, has returned to school to earn his degree in Physical Therapy, and has become a new dad as of August 18, 2022! He’s also prioritized his health and has learned new behaviors to prepare himself for his future transplant and prevent any damage to his new kidney.
THAT DAY HAS COME. Ryan is scheduled for his KIDNEY TRANSPLANT on November 8, 2022!!! We are overwhelmed with joy and relief, and we couldn’t be more grateful to Melissa Calles for her determination to be Ryan’s donor and her selfless act in donating a piece of her to save all of him.
The transplant comes with a cost. The surgery, transportation, lost wages while on FMLA, and new prescriptions are necessary. Even with insurance involvement, we are looking at large out of pocket expenses and can use any help we can get. Ryan deserves this kidney; he deserves his life. Please donate only if you can and share the need.
Thank you. We love our people and couldn’t do this without you.
