Ryan Harr Memorial Scholarship
Tax deductible
Since Ryan Harr's sudden passing in April 2021, there has been an outpouring of grief for his loss and love for all of the beauty he brought into the world. The Harr Family is collaborating with the Stella Adler Studio of Acting to create a memorial scholarship in Ryan's name.
Ryan was a vibrant, talented, funny, and kind son, brother, uncle, and friend. His passion for acting and exceptional perseverance defined his career and lead him to many adventures and wonderful friendships. Ryan became interested in theater and the dramatic arts in the eighth grade at Edison Middle School in Green Bay. He went on to act in all of the plays at Preble High School culminating in the starring role of “Nathan Detroit” in Guys and Dolls his senior year. After graduation in 2006, he went on to study theater at the University of Kentucky, graduating in 2011 with a BA in Theater. He was accepted into the two-year program at the prestigious Stella Adler Studio in New York, which he completed in 2013. During his time in school, he acted in various roles including outdoor dramas in Ohio, North Carolina, and New York City. Over the next seven years, he split his time between New York and Los Angeles following his acting dreams and ambitions. He expanded into writing, producing, directing, and acting in short films this past year during the pandemic. Ryan especially loved his nephew and two nieces. His niece Olivia dubbed him “Uncle Candy” and he enjoyed playing with all of them every chance he could. His parents and brothers are extremely proud of him and will always treasure his love and kind spirit.
To memorialize this kind soul, we are raising money to create the Ryan Harr Memorial Scholarship. We hope, in Ryan's memory, to give the gift of acting to more people like Ryan. This Scholarship will be for students attending the Evening Conservatory Program in New York, the same program that Ryan attended. Ryan was an integral member of the Stella Adler Studio and Art of Acting community. He was deeply loved, admired, respected and inspired good feelings, joy and love throughout the community. In addition to being a student, he was part of the administration for many years and was also an actor in the Harold Clurman Lab Theater Company's 2017 production of ‘Hot L Baltimore.’ We will remember Ryan with love always.
