Help Ryan Meyer: A Father's Fight for Justice
Donation protected
Help bring my father, Ryan Meyer, home.
Support his clemency appeal.
We are raising funds for my dad's clemency appeal to help him receive a pardon from the Governor of Colorado.
My dad has been fighting a severe and unfair sentence for nearly 15 years. A 96-year sentence for a crime in which he was the least culpable. His three co-defendants all received sentences of only 4-6 years. No witness identified my dad as even being present at the scene. Despite this, he remains behind bars, enduring a punishment that is both disproportionate and unjust.
Before this incarceration, my dad had never served time in prison, yet he was sentenced under Colorado habitual offender law. This law, which typically applies to repeat offenders, resulted in an extreme sentence that is neither fair nor fitting for his circumstances.
Since his incarceration, my dad has dedicated himself to helping others and building a positive community inside of prison. He has worked as a caregiver for the elderly and infirm and currently serves as a mental health peer assistant. He provides advocacy and support for his fellow inmates.
HIS IMPECCABLE RECORD, with no disciplinary issues, has earned him respect from both his peers and the staff. He continually strives to set a positive example for the people around him.
Though my dad has made mistakes in life, he has spent the last 15 years proving his commitment to a better future. Supported by the rest of our family, friends, and my sister and I who wait for his release, he continues to hold on to hope for his freedom. Now with your help, we can give my dad the chance to reunite with the people he loves and the ones who love him to start rebuilding his life.
Please stand with us in the pursuit of justice by contributing to his clemency fund. Every donation brings him closer to the fair treatment he deserves and the second chance he has worked so hard to earn.
All funds raised will be distributed by his attorneys to a videographer to do interviews of family and friends, a social worker for a complete make-up on my dad, who he is, and the growth he has achieved since his incarceration. All of this information will be utilized to aid in the governor's final decision. All remaining funds go to the Noble Law Firm for their representation. Proof of receipt will be provided upon request.
