We are the family of Ryan Matthew Spear. Ryan is a well-loved and respected young man of 21 years, who was involved in a single-vehicle accident early Thursday morning, June 13th. Those who know Ryan, know he is the first to offer a helping hand with kindness and dignity to all. Today we are asking for that to come back to him and his family. We will be doing what no parent, grandparent, sibling, or loved one should have to do at such a young age, letting him go. Ryan has been well cared for at Henry Ford Hospital with a spinal cord injury, sadly causing the loss of life. Since last week Thursday, his parents and loved ones have filled the waiting room and will line the halls today as we offer Ryan a Hero's Walk. We honor him for the gifts of life he will offer of himself to up to 175 lives in need of that helping hand he so readily offered. Ryan has and is giving of himself to the highest possible good. In his memory, we ask for you to offer a helping hand to support his family through this time. Ryan would be most honored to allow this moment to be not a burden, but a blessing. As we all know too well, medical expenses, unpaid time off work to care for him, grieving, and funeral expenses are monumental financial burdens. These funds will go directly to the care of these needs. When we come together and lift the light out of the darkness we all rise. Let us rise and raise up the funds to show Ryan and his family how loved he is and how far a helping hand can go in this world. We will let Ryan lead us there. Thank you for doing your part.
