Ryan Wudtke- Medical Expenses

It is hard for me to swallow my pride but I am asking for help.
On March 31st, Ryan woke up with some soreness in his foot/ankle. Didn’t think much of it at the time. The pain started to increase so I took him to the walk-in clinic on April 4th where is was diagnosed with tendinitis. They gave him a prescription for prednisone and sent us on our way.
Since then, I have taken him to the emergency room 3 times (April 6,7 and 9) for them to do nothing but give him a bacterial antibiotic, pain meds and send us home.
I scheduled a follow-up doctor’s appointment for April 13th and the doctor looked at us and told us we needed to get in for emergency imaging. Ryan needed to get an MRI with contrast done so we could figure out how to remove the abscess that was growing as they weren’t sure if it entered into his joints. (At this point it was a plan of attack) It was so bad that they scheduled emergency surgery on April 14th to get that removed.
While he was at the hospital, he was having a hard time breathing so they took him for a CT scan of his chest. The doctor came back up to the room with a hospitalist and a pulmonary doctor and stated they were 99% positive that he had blastomycosis (aka blasto). His lungs are full of nodules and it has spread to his body causing an outbreak of lesions on his body. The doctors immediately started him on an anti-fungal antibiotic to kill the infection.
On April 18th, he needed to have his foot opened up again to flush out the wound and they also took a part of his heel bone to test to make sure it did not enter his bones. We are still waiting for the biopsy to come back on that. Later that day, the doctor came in and confirmed it 100%.
Ryan will need to get IV antibiotics for 2 weeks straight once he is allowed to leave the hospital. Once those 2 weeks are done, he will then switch over to an oral antibiotic and he will need to take that for 1 year. The doctor informed us that this treatment is very costly.
Unfortunately, Ryan has a long road ahead of him with treatment and recovery.
We currently are living on one income and do not have insurance due to me switching jobs. We are going to struggle with the gas to get him to the hospital every day for treatment, medical bills on top of our regular bills.
We appreciate any help you can provide.
With all our love,
