Ryan's Eagle Project for Tolstoy Nursing Home
Donation protected
My name is Ryan Balseca from Troop 29 in Congers, NY and I'm working on my Eagle Scout Project to benefit Tolstoy Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. Tolstoy is a non-profit nursing home and rehabilitation center that I have worked with through the Health Sciences program at Boces. During my time there I have assisted residents through their daily activities and enjoyed being able to create connections with many of the residents I came in contact with.
When possible both the residents and staff spend their free time and breaks in the front area of the building. I want to create a peaceful place that is full of color for both residents and staff to enjoy.
For my Eagle Scout Project, I plan to beautify the front of Tolstoy Nursing Home by painting the front windows, posts, fencing and overhang, to give a cleaner look to the outside of the facility. Additionally, I will be adding flower boxes to all the front windows of the building as well as updating the broken table and chairs up front. My goal is to create a place where residents and staff can feel more at home whether that means many days or many long shifts. Through my time at Tolstoy, I have learned how important that area outside is for residents and staff. I learned there that a project like this can be the difference between a good and bad day for a resident.
I am asking for any donations to help toward the purchase of flower boxes and painting supplies. My goal is to raise $2000. Any additional funds raised will be donated to Tolstoy to assist in the maintenance of the flowers for future years.
Any amount will be appreciated!
Thank you for your time and consideration!
