Ryan’s fight against Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Ryan was diagnosed with brain cancer over 15 years ago. He has gone through 6 surgeries, countless doses of chemo, radiation, and immunotherapy. On August 14th, the tumor had grown so much, it caused him to have a stroke. I watched in horror as it happened in front of me. Luckily we were already at the ER. They quickly discovered that his tumor had caused his brain to shift drastically to the other side. He was admitted and on August 17 he underwent his most recent tumor resection. They got as much as they could safely. This time the tumor has retuned as a grade 4 glioblastoma. He was able to go home that Friday! He has been recovering at home, but the medical bills and normal everyday bills have been piling up. Short term disability helps, but anyone that’s ever had to use it knows, it’s not nearly enough to cover things. He was all set to return to work on September 26th, but this past Sunday, his incision started oozing. Back to the hospital we went, and his surgical site is infected from the inside. So now he has another surgery schedule for this Friday. Which means another 6 weeks off work. We’ve never been the kind to ask for help. But anything that you are able to offer, monetarily, words of encouragement, or prayers would be so greatly appreciated. He’s continuing to fight and is determined to beat this and overcome. We are waiting for approval for him to start a combination of 2 immunotherapies to hopefully hold everything back so he can continue to be part of his families life.
