Ryan's Recovery from Recording Studio Robbery
Donation protected
My partner Ryan had his recording studio broken into and robbed last weekend. The thieves stole some of Ryan's most valuable mics and equipment. Since posting to social media about the theft last weekend, it has come to our attention that more gear than was initially stated was stolen. His studio was clearly the target due to details of the break-in we are not disclosing for safety purposes.
Ryan is an independent recordist and producer well-known and loved by the Portland music community. This is a hard hit for Ryan's business, not to mention an incredible violation of trust. The Portland Police outright admitted that they are of no use to Ryan's case as the PPB no longer has a task force for burglaries.
I am fundraising to help Ryan rebuild and recover from this robbery. Although we hope that his gear will be salvaged, the reality is that this is unlikely. The rarity of some of the gear stolen makes these items nearly irreplaceable. Your donations will help cover the costs of purchasing gear comparable to what was stolen so that Ryan may continue to work and maintain the quality of his work. Your donations will also go immediately toward replacing Ryan's damaged door and door frame, installing added security measures in the space, and supplementing lost work days due to the break-in.
Ryan is wholly undeserving of all of this. I am heartbroken for him and want to see him bounce back -- so many of you have already expressed the same. Thank you for your support.
