Who are you?

My name is Ryan, I am a 21-year-old FTM student currently living in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. I currently co-own a games development company called Unbound Interactive, we focus on making games with LGBTQ+ representation. We also raise a bit of money for LGBTQ+ charities.

What's your story?

I figured I was transgender in 2014 and came out to my friends in 2015. When I got to university in 2016, I started to fully present as male. Although I wasn't out, I wore a binder and cut my hair short. Come 2017, I finally came out to my parents, my mum wasn't accepting at all but my dad was incredibly accepting.

I was in a good financial position then so I decided to go with GenderGP for hormones, after paying for the initial blood tests etc, it turned out that I was unable to do the DIY blood tests and I decided to not use their service.

Throughout 2018, I was co-owning Unbound Interactive, an indie games company with 0 income and slowly getting more into debt. This is when I found out about GenderCare. My dad was going to help me pay for my first few appointments with GenderCare since he knew how bad I was financially but he knew how happy it would make me to finally get on T. I decided to wait until the start of my final year of uni, where I was in a better mental and financial state before sending the email to them asking for an appointment.

And this is where we are right now, everything should be fine right? I'm in a better financial position and everything should be working out just fine.

Well, my dad suddenly passed away in a horrific work accident on 25th September 2019, just days before I got an appointment with GenderCare.  Since then, my mum has been accepting but she has not got the money to support me in my transition currently.

I have paid for my first appointment thanks to an amazing friend who offered to lend me the money.
However, I still need the funds for my endo appointment and travel.

Why crowdfund?

I am crowdfunding because I no longer have my dads financial help to pay for these appointments.
I am due to get inheritance but there has been some major complications with that which leaves me with no option other than ask for help and crowdfund this.

When do you want the money by?

I have booked my initial appointment for the 22nd January. I would like to book my endo appointment as soon as possible due to waiting times.

Goal Breakdown:

My overall goal is £320.

As I mentioned above, I have paid for my first appointment but I need £250 for my second appointment which allows me to get T. The extra £70 pays for travel etc.

How else can I help?

I currently have commissions open for website design work and graphic design work!
If you are reading this, you get a 25% discount on my commissions if tell me the code word which is: FUNDRAISER

I can't afford to give you anything right now, how can I help for free?
